The university is unwilling to make public the cost of the following buildings, several of which were built by private subscription: The Readingroom, 1819; the Treasury, 1832; the Art school, 1866; the Bacon Memorial library, 1881; the Bacon Memorial library, 1881; the Observatory, 1882; and Dwight hall, 1886. The total value is near $2,000,000.
