Miss Mary M. Whiting, a graduate from the Harvard Annex, has received a call to become director of the observatory at Vassar College.
The scholarship which was founded last year by the alumnae of Vassar College at Chicago has just been supplemented by the gift, from one of the alumnae, of a scholarship in a preparatory school, where a student who wishes to compete for the college scholarship can obtain the needed preparation free of charge.
