Dr. Francke gave the second lecture of his interesting course on Contemporary German literature, in Sever 6, yesterday at 3. p.m.
He divided the lecture into three parts and spoke of the historical Novel, which received its first impulse from the work of Sir Walter Scott; the novel treating of social relations; and the Novellette.
