The University nine will play the Beacons on the new grounds at 2.30 P. M., Saturday. The game is called thus early to prevent the nine from losing the game by watching the freshman game, which is called at 4 on Jarvis field.

The first year course in surveying and the second year course in levelling in the Scientific School, may be elected as full courses. The course in Mechanical Drawing can be elected for only one year, as a half course.

The final selection of the men who will row in the Columbia University eight has been made as follows : Bow, Dempsey, School of Law; 2, Berkins, School of Law; 3, Hart, '86, School of Arts; 4, Meikleham, '86, School of Arts, captain; 5, Beckwith, '87, School of Mines; 6, Lawrence, '86, School of Arts; 7, De Witt, '86, School of Arts; stroke, Peet, School of Medicine; coxswain, H. S. Dormitzer. The crew is an entirely new one, no one of them ever having rowed before in the university boat. The five men from 3 to 7, inclusive, were members of eighty-six's freshman crew.

Those who intend to elect English vi. should apply to Mr. Royce before June 7th. Mr. Royce would be glad to see anyone about this course, in his house, 14 Summer street. The course is intended to afford practice in extempore speaking on topics of general interest. The number of members must be limited to 21. Preference in choosing from among those who apply will be given to seniors or juniors. If more than 21 seniors apply preference will be given to those who seem best fitted to profit by the work.
