FACT AND RUMOR.

HARVARD CLASS RACES-Charles River course, 12.30 P. M.

HARVARD VS YALE_Jarvis Field, 3 P. M.

Rumor has it that the junior crew will be found in the van.

The University nine will follow the race in a barge.

The Yale nine will witness the race today from the referee's boat.

The nine have received their straw hats from Collins and Fairbanks.

Booth and Souther will probably be Yale's "battery" in the game today.

It is rumored that the senior crew will head the aquatic procession today.

The freshman nine plays at Exeter, Wednesday, the 14th, and at Fitchburg the 17th.

We may confidently predict, that either '84, '85, '86, or '87 has a sure thing on the race.

Tugs will be hired to convey the supporters of the junior and sophomore crews over the course.

Professor Gross, who has been connected with the University of Pennsylvania for many years is dead.

Dr. Chas. H. Williams, '71, captain of the Union Boat Club, will referee the class races today.

If the weather is favorable, we may expect one of the fastest races ever seen on the Charles river.

The following men will probably compose the nine in the game today : Nichols, p. ; Allen, c. ; Smith, 1b. ; Coolidge, 2b. ; Phillips, 3b. ; Baker, s. s. ; LeMoyne, l. f. ; Wipslow. c. f. ; Tilden r. f.
