Yesterday afternoon proved the best by far for shooting that the club has been fortunate enough to secure, The new match was opened under the most favorable conditions, and the score of all the contestants showed a marked improvement over the former records. The ten members present took advantage of the long afternoon to secure an unusually large amount of practice. The summary follows:

Match 1. Cup match, 20 birds, thrown at 5 angles, 16 yards rise. First, Allen, Slocomb, 16; second, F. Austin, 15; third, Palmer, 12.

In shooting off the tie, Mr. Allen won.

Match 2. 10 glass balls, 18 yards rise, thrown at 5 angles. First, Slocomb, 8; second, Palmer, 7; third, H. W. Abbot, F. Austin, W. Austin, 6.

Match 3. Same conditions. First, Allen, 9; second, Abbot, Palmer, 8; third, Batten, 6.

Match 4. 5 clay pigeons. First, Slocomb. F. Austin, Palmer, 5; second, Allen, 4; third, W. Austin, 3.

Match 5. 5 glass balls. First, Abbot, Palmer, 5; second, Batten, W. Austin, 4; third, Slocomb, 3.

Match 6. 5 clay pigeons. First, Abbot, F. Austin; 4; second, Palmer, Slocom, 3.

As Mr. Foster failed to appear, the tie between him and Mr. Allen, for the second prize in the last match, will be shot off at the next meeting, which will be held a week from today.
