We desire to retract, in part, our editorial remarks of yesterday reflecting upon the action of one of the instructors in the Latin department, as we find that they were founded on misinformation and do serious injustice to the instructor whose methods were criticised, which we sincerely regret. In our item which stated that members of Latin 2 answering "Not prepared" would not be again called on during the year, we should have also stated that those giving a sufficient excuse before the recitation would not be subjected to this rule. This throws an entirely new light on the whole matter, and renders our remarks, as far as they had reference to this case, entirely uncalled for.
