In our criticisms of the foot ball team a few days ago, we spoke of the necessity of training one man, and training him constantly, for the express purpose of kicking goals. The man selected for this important work should be out on Jarvis field practising hour after hour, kicking goals in every sort of wind and weather, from every part of the field, and under every circumstance likely to arise in a game. It is, of course, impossible at times to kick a goal successfully, and the college cannot, in all fairness, blame a man for doing the best he knows how. The result of several games, however, notably the game with Williams, leads us to believe that more constant practice in this important branch of foot ball would result in larger scores for Harvard representatives. We trust the subject of goal kicking will receive more careful attention at the hands of the management of the foot ball team.
