Very little has yet been done in the way of athletic sports at Brown. Last year a polo club was formed, which gave much enjoyment; but, owing to a lack of interest, it has not been revived this season. The base-ball nine has been organized, but as no suitable hall for practising pitching and catching has been provided, the members have not begun training. It is probable that a strong effort will be made to revive the boating interest. A gentlemen in Providence has offered prizes for the best class crew, and it is expected the races will be held about the time of Class Day. There are three shells now in the possession of the University Boating Association, and if a sufficient amount of money can be raised to have them placed in order, an interesting contest may be expected.
