AT a late meeting of the Matthews crew Mr. W. F. Weld resigned his position as captain, and Mr. E. T. Hastings was elected to fill the position for the remainder of the year.

ANY members of the Matthews boat-club who desire to try for positions on either of the club crews are requested to send their names, before March 1, to Mr. E. T. Hastings, Matthews 8.

HARVARD men will find some extremely witty burlesque writing in the item column of the last, Advocate, under "Comments on the Recent Fire"; the hits there are too good not to be continued, and we look for more.

THE fourth and last assembly took place on Wednesday evening, February 2, and was a brilliant affair. The managers have a comfortable balance left over, which will be handed down to the Junior managers, and a Subscription Assembly will be given immediately after Lent.

AT a meeting of the Holyoke boat-club, held on Wednesday evening, Mr. W. C. Riggs, '76, resigned his position as captain, and Mr. Denton, L. S. S., was elected to fill the vacancy, Members of the club who wish to be considered candidates for the crews will begin work at once in the Gymnasium, under the direction of the captain.

THE events of the Gymnastic Tournament of the Athletic Association at the Gymnasium, March 4, are as follows: Swinging Indian clubs; putting up dumb-bells; parallel bars; horizontal bars; vaulting, two-handed and one-handed; standing high jump; light-weight and heavy-weight sparring; light-weight and heavy-weight wrestling.

Does the possession of a good memory afford any indication of the presence or absence of other mental powers?

How far may the exercise of tact by individuals, or of policy by corporations, be an unselfish act?

How far does self-consciousness hinder action?
