We help students build college connections—with each other, faculty, staff and undergrads. Our precollege team of current Smith students and professional staff create an environment that supports community, growth, and emotional well-being. We achieve this through intentional daily after-class activities, twice-a-week house meetings, and open "talk" spaces with professional counseling practitioners and staff. Our faculty are Smith professors and affiliated instructors who exemplify the rigorous standards and values of the Smith community. Our academic programs give students a meaningful preview of what to expect in a college course in contrast to high school classes. Our culture of community helps prepare students for meeting and socializing with peers, instructors and professionals.

Are you a STEM-interested student looking for summer programs? Consider participating in our four-week Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP) July 9-August 6, 2022 on-campus at Smith College.

Students live on-campus for four weeks and learn from Smith College faculty and instructors. Smith undergraduates with science majors also serve as teaching assistants and counselors. During their time on-campus, students will choose two courses in STEM fields such as Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Neuroscience.

Participants learn how scientists and engineers formulate questions, work on sophisticated scientific instruments and develop valuable critical thinking and analytical skills. Applications are due May 15.
